What to Expect

Sunday Morning Service

A typical Sunday morning begins with adult Sunday School and children’s Sunday School at 9:45-10:45. It is a time of learning and fellowship.

Regular Sunday morning Worship service begins at 11am with announcements followed by a musical prelude during which children light the altar candles. The worship leader gives a call to worship which is followed by the taking of an offering. A congregational hymn follows. Our prayer/praise time led by a layperson collects prayer and praise requests from the congregation and then offers prayers on behalf of all the submitted requests. Special music from solos or ensembles follows, and then the reading of scripture related to the sermon.

Our music style includes traditional hymns with piano, organ, and guitar accompaniment. The sermon follows and closes with the Lord’s Invitation and a closing hymn.

The Sending Forth (benediction) ends the service, although it frequently takes folks 30 minutes or more to exit the sanctuary as there is much visiting.

Pastor Tim does Big Idea preaching which is a style of preaching that focuses on communicating a single, central idea or theme from a biblical passage or topic. The goal is to present a clear, concise, and memorable message that resonates with the audience and facilitates understanding and application of the Scriptures to everyday life.

Sunday School

Adult Sunday School meets from 9:45-10:45 and uses the curriculum called Faith Connections published by The Foundry Publishing which is lead on a rotating basis by one of the class members. Participation and discussion is encouraged.

Children’s Sunday School meets from 9:45-10:45 and uses the Trackers of Truth curriculum published by Seedbed Kids. A typical session begins with singing led by a song leader with guitar accompaniment. Then the group watches the video for that week’s lesson and a rotation of leaders teaches the interactive lesson. The last half of the class time, the children break into age/grade groups with a teacher for additional teaching and crafts. All of the children’s teachers have safety certification.

Parking

Guest parking is part of general parking on the side of the building. There are designated handicapped parking spots.
